The Force Awakens: Dark Side - Light Side Cupcakes!

 DIY Star Wars Cupcakes!

No need to choose The Dark Side or The Light Side, you can have both in these delicious, quick and easy Star Wars Cupcakes!

This is a simple Do It Yourself Dark Side/Light Side Cupcake Project for your Halloween or Force Awakens Party!
I used fan favorite products found in my pantry to make these galactic cupcakes!

Cake
Duncan Hines® French Vanilla Cake Mix
4 Egg Whites
1/3 cup oil
1 cup water
8 oz whipped cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
McCormick® Black Food Coloring


Frosting
Duncan Hines® Whipped White Frosting
Black and White Sprinkles

instructions
1.Add first 6 ingredients into a large mixer bowl and combine on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.

Tip:  using egg whites instead of whole eggs, helps keep the batter a pure white.

2.Pour half the batter into a medium mixer bowl.  Mix in black food coloring until a rich dark color is achieved.  Be sure that the color is thoroughly mixed.  I used about 2 teaspoon of color.

3.Fill 2 disposal decorating bags with each color of batter.  Lay flat until ready to use.

4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line your cupcake pan with your favorite Star Wars muffin cups.

5.Start filling the muffing cups:  Alternating black batter/white batter, fill one side of the cup at a time.

6.Bake for 17 minutes or until done.  Cool completely before frosting.

7.Frost with white frosting and sprinkle white and black edibles on top!
