Start Your Day with Cape May Cafe

Cape May Café Character Breakfast is one our favorite ways to start our day at Walt Disney World!   

Cape May Café is located in the New England style Beach Club Resort.  The meal is in a buffet style, which is tremendous, since it has something for everyone (even the pickiest of eaters) and is a great value as part of the Disney Dining Plan (one sit down credit only)!  We like to knock out two things from our long Disney to-do list, eating a great meal and hanging out with Minnie, Donald and Goofy.  This New England styled beachfront themed restaurant is unique in atmosphere, but consistent with Disney magic and excitement. Cape May Café Character Breakfast quickly becomes a must do on everyone’s list!

Pixy Dust and Droids

If you are like me, you absolutely love Star Wars Weekends (SWW)!  However, you may find that not everyone in your family has the same enthusiasm as you do... sigh!

Creating a balance with each person in mind can be a challenge!  Over the years I have come up with 3 Tips to combine the pixy dust with the droids so that the whole family can enjoy the Disney Magic at Hollywood Studios!

1. Enjoy a Character Breakfast

There is nothing more exciting than a Character Breakfast!  And an easy option for a SWW morning is the Cape May Cafe Breakfast at the Beach Club!

What Makes This Magical:  This is a family-friendly breakfast buffet with the classic Disney Characters such as Goofy, Minnie, and Donald!  

What Makes This Star Wars: With a short walk to Hollywood Studios, your family can enjoy quality time together and be at Hollywood Studios for the "rope drop"!   

Tips: You will want to take your time so plan accordingly.  The park usually opens early for SWW at around 8:30am; so reserve your breakfast early at 7 or 7:15am to allow for an enjoyable meal and a leisurely walk (20 mins) to Hollywood.

2.   See a Live Show

Disney Jr and Beauty and the Beast Live Stage Shows are two enchanting shows for your family!

What Makes This Magical:  These two shows provide entertainment for a range of ages in your family.  From the Disney Jr TV Shows to the beloved Beauty and the Beast movie, there are characters your family will know and love.

What Makes This Star Wars:  The arena for these two shows in right in the middle of all the Star Wars action at Disney Hollywood Studios!  You can easily split up and some go to the show, while others stand in line for character autographs!

Tips: The live shows last around 25 minutes.   Be sure and verify scheduled times when you get to the park and plan where you will meet up after the show.  Communication is key to a successful trip!

3. Ride The Rides

From Star Tours, to Rock 'n Roller Coaster, to the Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania, there is excitement and adventure for everyone!

What Makes This Magical:  Hollywood Studios has Rider Switch for the big rides such as Tower of Terror, Rock 'n Roller Coaster and Star Tours!  Rider Switch allows families with young children to share in the Magic of Disney Imaginearing!

What Makes This Star Wars: On your way to these one-of-a-kind thrill rides you will find Star Wars at every turn; from banners to character greetings to Darth's Mall!  You won't miss out on Star Wars by riding the rides!

Tips: You will need to make sure that you plan your FastPass+ selections before you leave for Disney.  Toy Story Mania is a very popular ride and will need to be on your FastPass+ list!  Planning ahead of time will help keep the fun in your vacation. 

Star Wars Weekends is so much more than exploring the Force, it is about enjoying your time with your family and spreading pixy dust on those droids you've been looking for!
