3 Reasons to Jump Rope Now!

Have you ever noticed that elite athletes are always jumping rope?  Well, there is a reason for that!  It is a super efficient way to burn calories and get conditioned!  It is also a great way to have fun, get your family involved in fitness, and just be a kid again!

I thought it would especially important to start a jump rope challenge now because we are starting the holiday season.

It starts with just a few extra pieces of Halloween Candy, which rolls into Thanksgiving which puts
rolls on my waist!
So, Here are my top 3 reasons why you should join me!

1. Makes you Leaner and Faster!
It's a great and easy way to add cardio to your strength workouts.  Jumping rope works your fast twitch muscles which will help your speed and jumping ability.  Plus, it burns more calories than your average cardio workout, and increases your metabolism throughout the day!

2. Goes Anywhere You Go
Whether you are traveling for work, visiting family, on vacation, or just don't feel like going to the gym today, your jump rope can go wherever you go.

3. Relax!
Jumping rope naturally increases deep breathing, which along with the endorphins released while exercising, will help you work off tensions, get better sleep and clear your mind!

Of course I know that some of you are probably already incorporating jumping rope into your routine, but you can still join us!  Add these variations to increase your intensity:

High knees with a jump rope
Double unders: get the rope under your feet twice in one jump.

I know that you are like me and don't want the extra pounds to show up again this holiday season!  So, "jump" on board with this challenge!
