Pacing, Corrals and the Balloon Ladies

Pacing is a very popular topic and a controversial topic for runDisney races.  It’s not just a run for the distance, we run the races for the Characters, The Medals, and The Castle.    We want all of those pictures in our memories.  However, many people have been disappointed at being swept from the course and not obtaining everything they dreamed a runDisney race could be.   It is very devastating to spend that much money and effort and not achieve your dream.  So, I’m am here to help you understand the whole process better, to help you be able to finish, and to have fun!

I always like to start with the basics:

027 What to Expect at Disneyland Paris

We spent the beginning of our adventure last year for the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon in London.  It was overcast the whole week.  As we took the train to Paris, and emerged from the Chunnel, we saw beautiful sunshine!   We were so glad to see the sun!  Things were going to be great for the race!

What we experienced was magical at Disneyland Paris, and here is a summary of the Half Marathon!

Post runDisney Race Massages !

One of the best things you can do for yourself is a post race massage!  I have done it for myself several times and have scheduled it for friends!  And the facilities at Disney are awesome and some that you should really take advantage of after a runDisney half marathon or marathon!

First, What are the Benefits of Massage – Why should you get it?

runDisney, Carb Loading and Il Mulino Restaurant!

Carbohydrate loading, or Carb Loading, is a strategy used by athletes to store glycogen or energy in the muscles and liver for an endurance event.  Experts warn against using it for a 5K or 10K, because the stored energy will just become fat.  You need an event longer than 90 minutes, such as a half or full marathon, for best performance!

Many of the popular Italian Restaurants in Disney are booked up for Carb Loading during runDisney weekends.  But, I have an easy suggestion that you may not have tried!

Beyond the Run: Drinking Around The World

A favorite reward for many runners is a nice cold beer after the race!  And what better place to do that - than in Epcot!

I really loved when they had the Wine and Dine Half Marathon at night and you could spend until 3am in Epcot!  But, you know - you can do this for any race weekend!

I have some tips I’d like to share with you, and then go over what you can find in each country!
