The Dark Side Race Maps: Star Wars Half Marathon

Updated March 21, 2016:
Run or Run Not, There is no Try!

It's time to look at a very exciting runDisney race course!

Half Marathon Course Map

Your Journey to the Dark Side Starts at Epcot

The starting zone for the race is the Wonder Parking Lot at Epcot.  Everyone will have to walk through security, and all running packs and check-in bags will have to be checked.  Please be prepared for extra time getting into your Corral.

There will be lots of excitement in your Corral though and watch for guest appearances of your galactic favorites on the race monitors!  Get Ready - Because your tour of Epcot will be a quick one! You will rocket around the World Showcase, entering by Mexico and exiting by the United Kingdom.  You will then jumping to Hyperspace as you fly off to Hollywood Studios!
Tip:  Skipped the Porta Potties at the beginning?  No worries!  Bathrooms along the World Showcase will be open!

Hollywood Studios

This route will be a short one too, as you fly down Hollywood Boulevard, by Echo Lake, the Tower of Terror and emerge on Lake Buena Vista Drive.

When you have emerged from Hollywood Studios, you will have achieved 4 miles with just 9 more to go!

Animal Kingdom
The route from Hollywood Studios to the Animal Kingdom will take you 4 miles:  This path takes you down the main road, World Drive.  The only elevation changes you will notice will be due to on or off ramps along World Drive and Osceola Parkway.

You will enter the Animal Kingdom at Dinoland, run by the Tree of Life and exit at the Oasis.

Tips:  Don't let the ramps fool you, they can be tough especially when you are tired!  So take them easy and look back when on top to see how far you've come!

Know where your stations will be:  As you head on to Animal Kingdom, you will find first aid at Mile 5 and 7; Before you enter the Animal Kingdom, Mile 8 will give you gel and water.

There will be small sets of porta potties along World Drive:  stop if you need to!

Path to the Dark Side

Your Path to the Dark Side is almost complete!  Just 4 More Miles to the ESPN Sports Complex!
This will be the toughest part of the race because it is all roadway.  Stay the course!  The end is near, and if you need to walk the ramps - walk!  Be sure and stop for hydration at miles 11 and 12; and check in at the first Aid Station at 11.5.

This race seems to be the Wine and Dine - just backwards!  Saying that, just be careful as you get to the ESPN complex as the pathways narrow.

Tips:
-Smile big for the finish line!  And stop to get a professional picture with your medal!
-Your Check In Bags will be waiting for you at the ESPN Complex:  Have your race number visible to pick up your bag.
-Buses will be available to take you back to your resort.

Amazing course!  It will be challenging at times; fun at times; but always worth the effort!

May The Force Be With You!
