Beyond the Run: Drinking Around The World

A favorite reward for many runners is a nice cold beer after the race!  And what better place to do that - than in Epcot!

I really loved when they had the Wine and Dine Half Marathon at night and you could spend until 3am in Epcot!  But, you know - you can do this for any race weekend!

I have some tips I’d like to share with you, and then go over what you can find in each country!

Tips
1.  When to Drink Around the World
Drinking can make you dehydrated, so this activity is one you really need to do after the race, not the day before.

2.  How to Drink Around the World
If your goal is just to experience a drink in each country, and don’t mind sharing drinks, then you can give yourself about 5 hours.  If you don’t want to share and may want extras, I would suggest running the race, planning lunch in Epcot then enjoy the world showcase until park closing!
You will want to start and one end or the other:  Mexico or Canada.  Don’t hop around, stick to the plan of walking around.
Also, you will need to remember to enjoy appetizers along the way, and don’t plan on a big meal since drinking tends to fill you up.

3.  Plan for the Weather
Bring a poncho, and be prepared to hang out in an exhibit if the weather gets bad, or taking your drinking to an inside bar.

4.  Capture the Moments
Take pictures of your drinks, the entertainment, and how much fun you had!  You will want to share and relive these moments!
