I love my Inaugural Kessel Run Challenge Medal!
It is truly unique now that the Disneyland runDisney weekends are on indefinite hold. So, it seemed that we would never be able to achieve this medal again! But I was excited this week when runDisney announced that it will still be available – with a twist!
You have the chance to bring home 2 new Star Wars Medals! And I want to make sure everyone knows the best way to approach achieving these new medals – and here's how.
1st Sign up for the Dark Side Half Marathon or First Order Challenge.
This is a key step in getting that brand new Kessel Run Medal - you must complete the Dark Side Half Marathon or First Order Challenge. These races are held the 21st and 22nd of April, 2018, and there are still positions open for either of these events-- you need to sign up ASAP before they sell out!
2nd Sign up for the Kessel Run Challenge.
The Kessel Run Challenge involves:
completing the Dark Side Half or First Order Challenge AND the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon.
The Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon event gives you the freedom to run with the Force in your own galaxy, space and time!
It comes with Important Guidelines Though:
-You Must Register for the Kessel Run Challenge – not just the Virutal Half Marathon Registration
-Deadline to Register: Feb 28, 2018
-Deadline for Race Completion: March 31, 2018
- Race Course: Anywhere, Any Days, Even Treadmill!

3rd Getting your Medals
At the Expo:
Kessel Run Challenge participants will receive their Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon medal and Star Wars-themed keepsake at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo during the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side race weekend.
At the End of the Half Marathon: Upon completion of the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon within the pacing requirements, participants will be awarded the coveted Kessel Run Challenge medal in addition to their Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon medal.
** Please note that if you are swept, you may not get your Challenge Medal. So keep that in mind!
This opportunity is a great way to show your fandom, start moving and surpass your goals!
