Planning FastPass+ for Star Wars Weekends

Star Wars Weekends window for schedule fastpass+If you are heading to Star Wars Weekends now is the time to book your FastPass+ and hold your spot on your favorite rides!

Disney FastPass+ service is an advanced reservation service that makes your vacation planning smooth and effortless! You can reserve your favorite rides 60 days in advance right from your home  on the My Disney Experience webpage.  The reservations will be linked to your Magic Bands so no little pieces of paper to keep up with!  And MyFastPass+ helps you skip the standby queue and head straight to your favorite attraction!

FastPass+ is a great advancement at Disney, but it does require some planning and here's why:

1.  Ride Limitations:  You can only schedule rides in one park a day; and only 3 rides per day.  If you have a park hopper, you can still go to other parks and see other attractions; you just will not have a FastPass+ reservation.

2.  It's a tiered reservation system:  For Epcot and Hollywood Studios, there is a tiered system:  you have a set of rides that you may choose only 1 ride for FastPass+ and a set that you may choose 2 rides for FastPass+.

Hollywood Studios will be really busy with the extra Star Wars Weekends guests, so you need plan as soon as your schedule window opens!

Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Rockin' Rollercoaster

The FastPass+ Choices available for Hollywood Studios are as follows:

Choose 1 FastPass+ selection from the following:

Beauty and the Beast Live Stage Show
Fantasmic
Rock n  Rollercoaster
Toy Story Midway Mania

Choose 2 FastPass+ selections from the following:

Disney Jr Live Show
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
Lights, Motion, Action
Muppet Vision 3D
Star Tours
The America Idol Experience
The Great Movie Ride
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The "Choose 1" option is hard for a lot of families because you usually have those who want to do both the Rock n Rollercoaster and Toy Story Mania.   I know that I personally love them both!

So, you have a couple of options:

1.  Split Up.  The great thing about the FastPass+ system is that each family member can choose the rides they want.   If you only have one day at Hollywood Studios, this is a good option.   Splitting up can be scarey with the crowds but having a communication plan before you get to the park is key.

2.  Pick One.  If you want to stay together, and you don't mind waiting in standby for one ride, then I would pick your favorite.  Your game plan should be to head for the ride without FastPass+ first thing when the park opens, and schedule your FastPass+ later in the day.

Important Reminders:
1.   Dining Reservations:  Have your dining reservation time in hand when planning your FastPass+ selections.  And be mindful that you might not want to get on a roller coaster right after eating.

Sci Fi Diner

2.  Jedi Training and Padawan Mind Challenge:  When signing up for either of these, have your Dining and FastPass+ schedule with you.  Schedule these SWW events when you first enter the park; the earlier you schedule, the easier it is for Cast Members to work around your day.

Do You Have What It Takes to be a Jedi

3.  MyDisneyExperience App:  Download the application for your smartphone.  You will be able to manage your FastPass+ fun with a touch of a finger while at Disney.

FastPass+ is a great addition to your Disney experience, so don't forget to this step when planning your vacation!
